I am getting close to being able to call this painting finished. I still have a couple of hours worth of work to do on it, but it has to dry before I can add those finishing touches.
After it was pointed out to me that my all the photographs of my paintings looked yellow, I adjusted the white balance in my camera and took the photo below. It is much more representative of the actual painting than any of the other photos.
I visited a gallery today that had expressed interest in my paintings. I took 3 of my paintings, my portfolio and a CD with images of about 20 of my paintings. They asked me to bring some of the paintings from the portfolio in, and talked about doing a show with one other artist in the fall. I will post updates periodically as I have new information to report.
Here's the progress today on my latest painting....

I ordered the invitations to my show today!
Here's what I did today... before I did what I wiped away!
I changed some of the reflections on the bottle so that it did not look like there was a reflection of a mask, and I corrected the shape of the girls arm on the left (her right arm). I also started on the shiney metal lid of the cannister... which is tedious and time consuming.
Here's the beginning of a new painting. It is 20" x 16" oil on canvas. I purchased the reference photo from Anna, a Russian amateur photographer who lives in Israel.
I will be having a solo exhibition of my oil paintings at Sacred Art Gallery located within the First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham. It is located at 2100 4th Avenue North in downtown Birmingham, AL. I am so excited!!! This is my first solo exhibition, and only the second show that I have had paintings in. The opening reception will be August 15th. I will post additional details as the date draws closer.
